Alex Eats Coffee Protein Smoothie
These high protein smoothies are great for breakfast, lunch or as a post workout snack.
I use whey protein, as it is the most complete in terms of amino acids, superior to plant based protein powders. Many people who are sensitive to dairy will tolerate whey protein just fine. I use only organic to have the cleanest, least inflammatory protein. I find tera’s organic whey to have the best tasting whey powders. Sometimes i add in collagen protein. While it is not a complete protein like the whey, it is completely tasteless, does not change the texture and some research suggests it is helpful for joint health, skin, etc.
Ingredients
1 cup freshly brewed coffee, cooled with ice
2 T almond butter
2 scoops chocolate protein powder
1 scoop Vital Proteins collagen protein
1T cocoa powder
1 frozen banana
Handful of ice
Procedure
Blend together in a blender
~36g protein
