Thai Steak Lettuce Wraps

These delicious and nutritious steak wraps are packed with flavor and protein!

 
 

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs skirt steak or flank steak, tenderized

  • 1T olive oil

  • 1 head of butter lettuce

  • 1 large carrot, julienned

  • 1 large red bell pepper, julienned

  • Fresh mint

  • Fresh basil

  • Fresh cilantro

Marinade/dressing:

  • ½ cup tamari or soy sauce

  • 1T fish sauce

  • 1T lime juice

  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped

  • ¼ cup cilantro, chopped

  • 3 scallions, chopped

  • 1T chili paste

Procedure

Mix all the ingredients and marinate steak in half of the mixture for at least 1 hour, reserving the remaining for dressing. 

Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium high heat and cook the steak 1-2 minutes per side, until cooked but still pink on the inside. Let the meat rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing thinly. Assemble your wraps by topping lettuce with steak, veggies and herbs and wrap up like a taco.
